PHHS Boys Track State Champs and Girls State Runner Up

We want to congratulate the girls and boys track teams on their outstanding track season in the Spring. Congratulations to the girls team who finished state runner up. Catherine G. led the team by winning two individual state championships in the 1600 meters and the 3200 meters. Maggie B. was state runner up in the triple jump. Others making the All State team were Madison B., Abigail B., Katie C., Rebekah T., Maria H., Kimi W., Annie S., Haydyn F., and Casey Q.
And congratulations to the boys track team as they won the first Boys team state championship in school history, beating runner up Covington by 14 points. Leading the boys team was Alex D. who won his 5 th overall individual state championship and his third in the 110 hurdles. The boys 4 x 100 meter relay team consisting of Alex D., Zach B., Jackson C., and Connor B. also won the state championship with a school record time of 43.67 seconds. Gavin G. was state runner up in the 800 meters and the 3200 meters, Connor B. was state runner up in the 200 meters, and Austin F. was state runner up in the 300 hurdles. Also making the all state team were Jarrett A., Brady S., Cole D., and Campbell B.
Also congratulations to Gavin G. who broke the school record in the 3200 meters in a time of 9:54.41, a record which had stood since 1993 and Alex D. who broke the school record in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.48 seconds, a record that had stood since 1980. Congratulations again to the girls for their state runner up finish and the boys, 2017 state champions.
